Chiwetel Ejiofor has long been rumoured to play as Baron Mordo in “Doctor Strange.” Now those rumours may soon be put to rest as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently teased some casting speculations will be confirmed very soon.

While talking to Collider about the Phase 3 films under the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige briefly touched on the production of Scott Derrickson’s “Doctor Strange.” When asked when the studio will be revealing the additional casts and characters in the film, Feige said the announcement will come soon.

“Well, we start filming in November so there are a number of roles that have been rumoured about that’ll probably become official very, very soon and there are a handful of additional parts that we’re in the process of casting now,” he said.

Kevin Feige’s statements give credence to a previous report from Deadline about Chiwetel Ejiofor’s role in “Doctor Strange.” In the exclusive report, the site claims the “12 Years A Slave” star will definitely portray the villain character Baron Mordo.

In the Marvel comics, Baron Mordo, born Karl Mordo, was also one of the disciples of the Ancient One apart from Doctor Stephen Strange. However, he harboured jealousy and anger towards Strange upon learning that the young apprentice would later on become the Ancient One’s successor. So he tormented Strange with demons throughout his youth.

However, Scott Derrickson’s film adaptation of the villain Baron Mordo will reportedly be different. Deadline says he will “not be necessarily a completely villainous character,” rather “an amalgamation of characters culled from Doctor Strange‘s mythology.”

Chiwetel Ejiofor was also rumoured to play as the Ancient One in “Doctor Strange.” However, that role has already been given to Tilda Swinton, who also played the male character of angel Gabriel in the DC film “Constantine.” Cinema Blend adds that Ejiofor can also portray as the other villain Dormammu or as Stephen Strange’s ally Brother Voodoo.

In his interview with Collider, Kevin Feige also revealed the main filming location for “Doctor Strange” will be in London. As to the other various locations, the production team has yet to decide.
