Recently, game developer Bandai Namco announced the next entry in one of its most popular fighting series, "Tekken," the “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution." Aside from the title reveal, Bandai Namco also gave fans a glimpse of the next character joining the game, and it’s someone who’s crossing over from another popular fighting title.

Bandai Namco announced the new game at the finals of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015. Along with the announcement, Bandai Namco also revealed that “Street Fighter” mainstay Akuma will be making an appearance in the game. This is Akuma’s second appearance in the “Tekken” franchise after the crossover title “Tekken X Street Fighter.”

The video for the game, which can be seen below, starts off with Heihachi’s wife Kasumi talking to a yet-to-be-seen stranger. Later on, the video shows off brief gameplay footages as Heihachi battles against Akuma.

Akuma is not present in the upcoming “Street Fighter V” game, and he is currently not on the list of confirmed downloadable content (DLC) characters coming to the game. It’s good to see that fans of the character can still have a chance at playing him, even if it is in a different franchise.

Akuma’s inclusion in the title could also mean that Bandai Namco and Capcom are still open to another “Tekken X Street Fighter” game in the future. The first crossover title was not well-received by fans as the game is riddled with DLC characters only attainable through the use of real money.

“Tekken 7: Fated Retribution” will initially launch for arcades. It will bring new characters, items and outfits to the series, Destructoid reports. The game will also see the return of old fan-favourites including Lily, Xiaoyu, Kazuya, Lars, Devil Jin, Yoshimitsu, Steve, King, Leo, Law, Paul and more. The new characters include Josie Rizal, Shaheen, Lucky Chloe and Katarina Alvarez.
