Telstra's 1Gbps over 4G LTE might take a while to get to mobile devices
The question now is, 'When'?
News about Telstra's 1 Gbps download speed for 4G LTE is going viral across the Internet. Now that the number of tech users wanting a much faster web experience is booming, the Australian carrier's offer could be what they’re looking for.
"Demand for a superior user experience is ever increasing as customers are 'always on' and have access to new and advanced technologies”, said Mike Wright, the Group Managing Director of Networks in Telstra Operations, as stated on Telstra Exchange.
"The demonstration of 1 Gbps end to end capability shows the advanced state of these standards in our ability to rapidly bring them into commercial service in order to deliver increased capacity in our network to meet the growing demand”.
A huge number of mobile device users have been asking for high speed Internet for the past couple of years. It’s only through fast download speeds that tech users gain enjoyable access to movies, music and more despite being away from home and in locations where there are no Wi-Fi connections, as Tech Times pointed out.
To date, network operators still struggle to meet customer demands. They are, however, expected to up their game now that Telstra promises 1 Gbps download speed over 4G LTE.
It must be noted, however, it might take some time before Telstra's speeds actually hit consumer devices. At present, Telstra is the only carrier in Australia offering a speed of 450 Mbps for certain device models and up to 600 Mbps on specific mobile hot spots in select 4 GX areas.
Telstra’s also hard at work providing high-speed Internet to its customers on the consumer and enterprise level.
