‘Terminator Genysis': Jai Courtney Talks Naked Scenes, Admits Being An Exhibitionist
Apparently, Jai Courtney is comfortable enough with his own body that he doesn’t mind going naked on screen. He reportedly had no qualms walking around nude on the set of his new film “Terminator: Genysis.”
Jai Courtney has at least one confirmed scene in “Terminator: Genysis” where he will be fully naked. But according to The Terminator Fans, he will be mostly topless. Jai, who plays Kyle Reese in the film, revealed in an interview with HuffPost Live that he has no problem going naked for a film. "I'm an exhibitionist from way back, so it really didn't affect me too negatively,” he admitted, after confirming with host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani that it will be his naked butt that viewers will see in “Genysis” and not from a body double.
However, he did admit that having naked scenes or being naked on set can also get “pretty weird.” “So even if you're comfortable with it, you have to understand that some people aren't, and there's always things in place to preserve modesty, if you will, as far as you can with that sort of stuff,” he admitted.
The Australian actor who also stars in “Insurgent” opposite Shailene Woodley and Theo James revealed during his “Terminator: Genysis” interview some of the devices he used on set to preserve his modesty. Jai Courtney said there’s the “c**k sock” and the “modesty pouch.” The first is a small apparatus with elastic, which Jai claimed could be very expensive. The modesty pouch he recalled had him cringing in pain since it needed to be taped strategically. "Head a little further south, and that's where you tape it up," he explained. Jai said removing the pouch and adhesive gave him pain but nothing that he cannot tolerate compared to waxing, which he thought would surely be painful.
Getting naked in “Terminator: Genysis” wouldn’t be the first for Jai Courtney. He also had some nude scenes in “Spartacus,” and being the official face of Bonds requires him in his underpants during photo shoots, so it’s said to be a common event for him to appear on film topless.
