Samsung Galaxy Note 4

The Galaxy Note 4 is immensely popular in China and to please Chinese customers Samsung has quietly made three dual SIM variants of the handset available in China. The three devices are as follows:

  • SM-N9109W for China Telecom
  • SM-N9106W for China Unicom
  • SM-N9108V is a SIM-free handset

According to GSMArena, out of the two SIM card slots, the first one in all the three variants supports 4G connectivity over TDD-LTE and FDD LTE. The second SIM slot supports 2G connectivity. The SIM free edition will be able to connect to 4G networks of any service provider. It is priced at CNY 5,400 that equates to $880. The details on the pricing of other two handsets have not been known yet. The SIM card slots of all the three variants support microSIM cards.

In the past too, Samsung has launched dual SIM version of its flagship smartphones exclusively for the Chinese audience. The Galaxy Note 2, the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy S5 have been made available in dual SIM editions in the past. In China, there is good demand for dual SIM handsets and the Galaxy Note 4 Duos will certainly attract more number of buyers.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Duos specifications are slightly different from that of the regular single SIM edition. The internal storage of the device is 16 GB and it comes packed with 3,000 mAh battery. On the other side, the original single SIM edition comes with 32 GB storage and 3,220 mAh battery. The single SIM version is priced at CNY 5200 in China.

As of now, there is no information whether the dual SIM variant will be available outside China. According to Softpedia, Samsung may roll Galaxy Note 4 Duos in other Asian countries in the near future. After China, India may be the next country in line to get the dual SIM edition of Note 3 as users prefer to use dual SIM handsets in the country.
