One year on from the release of Xbox 360 and Xbox One exclusive “Titanfall,” Electronic Arts and Respawn have made all of the game’s three DLC packs free to download. The content includes new features, bug fixes and nine additional maps.

The free “Titanfall” DLC, available on the official Xbox website includes three packs, “Expedition,” “Frontier’s Edge” and “IMC Rising.” Each DLC pack was previously available for $9.99, or together in a season pass priced at $24.99.

As noted by IGN in its coverage, all of the free DLC packs are available for both Xbox One and Xbox 360. The first DLC pack, “Expedition,” takes place following the events depicted in the “Titanfall” story mode and comes with three new maps. The first map, “Swampland,” features gigantic trees dotted across marshy wetlands, “Runoff” is set in an industrial sewage plant and “Wargames” makes use of the combat simulation pods found in the “Titanfall” tutorial.

A second free DLC pack, “Frontier’s Edge” comes with another set of three maps, “Export,” “Haven” and “Dig Site.” It also includes multiple bug fixes, updates, new achievements and a new feature called Black Market. Players can use the Black Market feature to buy Burn Cards, emblems and more using an in-game currency called Credits.

“IMC Rising” is the third and final free DLC pack, featuring three more maps. “Zone 18” takes place in a spacious decommissioned robotics factory, “Backwater” is set in a bootlegging colony in the Appalachian Mountains and “Sand Trap” is set on the rolling dunes of a desolate desert wasteland.

The Xbox 360 “Titanfall” Deluxe Edition is currently priced at $39.99 on the Xbox Marketplace, while the base game is available for $29.99 on Xbox One. Polygon scored the game a 9/10 in its review, lauding its fast-paced, responsive combat and dynamic gameplay, while expressing a desire for more customisation options and a smoother framerate.
