HTC One is officially getting an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and it includes several changes provided by HTC such as major bug fixes, system enhancements, video highlights and 10 others from Jelly Bean.

HTC One Official Update

Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC Americas, confirmed that owners of the HTC One smartphone will be getting an official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware. The update has already begun rolling out in Taiwan. It will be pushed initially to the all One variants in the region and eventually to many other areas worldwide.

Android 4.3 with Sense 5.0 Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware for HTC One has a size of 512 MB. Owners are expected to free some storage space, if needed, to have the new software installed on their device. HTC One will gain the following new features:

- Improved colour contrast in low-light environments using the camera

- New battery charging animation in power-off state

- Video highlights can now feature soundtracks

- New radios

- Several bug fixes

- Improved overall system performance

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Goodies

Aside from the modifications and improvements provided by HTC to the One smartphone, the new firmware features several Jelly Bean goodies from Android 4.3 version.

Some features owners should expect from the new software update are as follows:

1. OpenGL ES 3.0 version for realistic and high performance 3D graphics rendering

2. Virtual surround sound powered by Fraunhofer Cingo - Beats Audio technology may have overridden this

3. Bluetooth Low Energy and compatibility with Bluetooth Smart accessories

4. Improved dial pad functionality with Autocomplete

5. Better keyboard and text input

6. Wi-Fi only location scanning

7. Disabled apps tab found in the "Settings > Applications"

HTC One's new firmware - Android 4.3 Jelly Bean - is downloadable via Over-the-Air procedure which is being pushed gradually. Arrival of the latest update may depend on network carrier and territory.

Before updating your smartphone, make sure that you have created a backup of all personal settings, information and data files for safety precautions, connected the device to a stable Wi-Fi connection and plugged to its AC power to avoid power interruption.
