Are you prone to spills? Are you an adventure junkie hoping for a wild holiday? These three waterproof smartphones will surely complement your active lifestyle. Gone are the days when waterproof means boring because these smartphones offer some killer specs and features that can compete with their non-waterproof counterparts.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is akin to the world's most powerful smartphone in the market today - the Samsung Galaxy S4 - only it is waterproof. This smartphone supports both 4G HSPA+ and LTE and it packs killer specs like the 8MP camera that can record up to 1080p high definition videos. Although this is relatively less than the Samsung Galaxy S4 counterpart which is 13MP, there is an Aqua mode that allows users to snap photos and record videos underwater. In this same mode, you can also configure settings to capture images as the capacitive screen does not work underwater. In contrast to the Samsung Galaxy S4, the 5-inch display is an LCD rather than AMOLED display.

Additional features are front camera, memorycard slot, capacious removable battery and a Snapdragon 600 processor. Although this smartphone is waterproof, splash-resistant and dustproof you must still be cautious with dings and drops.

The Sony Xperia Z

Sony proved that waterproof smartphones can be high-end, stunning and packed with killer features with the Sony Experia Z. Similar to its competitor, the Galaxy S4 Active, the Sony Xperia 7 design is breathtakingly dustproof and waterproof yet not rugged.

This smartphone packs a 13MP camera sensor and an older yet quite capable Snapdragon S4 Pro quadcore processor. Additionally, the elegant package of the Sony Xperia Z comes with a removable memorycard slot that allows you to shoot more photos and videos underwater. Unfortunately, this waterproof smartphone doesn't have removable battery.

The Casio G'zOne Commando 4G LTE

The ruggedised and waterproof design of the Casion G'zOne 4G LTE is pretty much a refresh of its original model. This model is 4G LTE enabled but it doesn't have the killer specs and features.

The Casio G'zOne Commando 4G LTE is really the smartphone of choice for outdoors enthusiasts as it offers ready access to digital compass widgets. Also, this device can be synced with a Casio G-Shock watch with Bluetooth.
