Some users are already seeing the negative side of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Samsung announced that its recently launched Galaxy S4 smartphone has been launched in 60 countries.

The Galaxy S4 was released in South Korea first and is now available in all major markets around the world. In the US, the handset can be bought from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular. Verizon is only taking pre-orders at the moment, mentioning that it might last until May 30 for the smartphone to be in stock.

Samsung's flagship smartphone features a 1.9GHz quad-core processor rather than the eight-core Eynos 5 originally tipped. Supposedly, an Octa-core version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be released later this year, but will only be available on 3G networks rather than the superfast 4G LTE signal.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 5-inch Super AMOLED screen offering Full 1,920 x 1,080p HD resolutions with a 441p image density. Retaining the same height as the Samsung Galaxy S3, the new model is actually thinner than its predecessor at just 7.9mm thick in comparison to the 8.3mm measurements of the Galaxy S3.

Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 13-megapixel camera in the rear coupled with a 2-megapixel snapper in front. The flagship packs a whole host of new camera features like Dual Camera and features Samsung Galaxy Smart Scroll, Smart Pause, Air View and Air Gesture functionality.

With a 2,600mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has three internal storage size options, all bolstered by the addition of a microSD card slot supporting cards up to 32GB. The current quad-core version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 provides 4G LTE connectivity as well as IR LED, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Overheating and Fast Depleting Battery Life - Owners report the battery life of the Galaxy S4's massive 2,600 mAh Li-Ion battery is quickly exhausted overnight, leaving less than 50 percent charge by morning. Moreover, Some users are complaining that the Galaxy S4 is reaching a temperature which makes it impossible to hold the phone against the ear while talking.

Purple Colour on Display - A purple discoloration on the screen display has been reported. Samsung Galaxy S4 owners on the XDA-Developers forum report seeing smearing and ghosting when scrolling on the phone. This especially occurs when scrolling among darker colors, which begin showing up as purple. Many suspect that the smearing is a software problem that like the battery issues can be fixed with a big fix update; however, this remains uncertain.

No Eight Core Processor - One of the most attractive features of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the Exynos 5 Octa core processor that was introduced with this device. In reality, the eight core processor that the Galaxy S4 has is actually a combination of Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processors. It is important to note that these two core will not work simultaneously.

The 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor is used when the device is either performing low resource demanding tasks or is in its idle state, while the higher performing 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 is used while performing heavy tasks like playing HD videos and or high-end graphic games. However, this is advantageous to the device's battery as lower clock speed means less power drain on the battery.

Availability of Other Galaxy S4 Variants - The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been advertised as having variants with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of internal memory, but only the 16GB handsets are available at this time. A number of carriers are expected to offer the 32GB and 64GB variants at some point, but we currently have no news on when those handsets will be available.

Moreover, some people who received their Samsung Galaxy S4 device too early revealed that the 16 GB version of the device actually offers only about 8 GB of user available storage while the other 8 GB goes to system services and Android v4.2 Jelly Bean. However, this may not be a big problem as the device features a microSD slot for additional external storage.

High-End Bootloader Locked - With the exception of Sprint, Verizon and AT&T, Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a locked bootloader. This adds security to your device and prevents some forms of hackery that most people do in unlocking the device.
