Top Devices on Kids' Wish-Lists

Christmas is fast approaching and Kids as well as Kids at heart is making their list on what to expect during the Holidays.

Nielsen Company, a leading consumer research company in the US, conducted a survey on what US Kids are expecting for Christmas. And the Apple of the eye of this generation of kids is the iPad being at the top spot.

Report shows that today's kids are into expensive gadgets particularly for gaming or social networking. Apple, Nintendo, and Microsoft Xbox products are dominating this year's charts, followed by Sony gaming consoles as most desired devices for kids.

Nielsen reported that the Apple iPad was consistently at the top spot since 2010, making the most desired electronic gadget among kids ages 6-12. This year iPad was chosen by 44% of the kids surveyed from 31% in 2010.

Next in line are two of Apple's popular devices, the iPad Touch which is desired by 30% of the kids in the survey. The next 27% would want to have the iPhone. This makes Apple devices at the top 3 most desired gadgets of kids for the 2011 holidays.

Gaming devices and consoles are no longer the must haves for kids as Computers and Other Tablets obtained both 25% of kid's desirability rating. The same rate was given to Nintendo 3DS at 25% while Kinect for Xbox was rated at 23%. The release of the 3DS made it at the top spot for gaming consoles.

The older Nintendo DS was still in the ranking with 22% desirability. Falling behind is the Playstation 3 at 17% and the Xbox 360 at 16%. At the end of the list is another Nintendo product in Wii at 11%, making it the least desired among all the gadgets.

Some kids are reported be non-apple fans like those 19% who chose non-Apple smartphones and 12% choosing other mobile devices.
