The iPhone 6 release date this 2014 is tentatively set on September 19 as reports from Asia and Europe indicate that preparations for Apple's biggest event of year has already commenced and will further ramp in the weeks and months ahead.

From Germany, reports came out that Apple telco partner Deutsche Telekom has shifted on the offensive mode, advising its existing subscribers that the next iPhone is landing in four months' time or specifically in September 19.

While Apple Insider has downplayed the leak as an 'educated guess' on the part of Deutsche Telekom, the tech site conceded that a mid-September availability is aligned with prevalent forecasts from analysts - that the iPhone 6 is touching down as early as Q3 2014, likely in the latter months.

Plus the reported Sept 19 debut seems to fit with the latest development from Asia, where Apple assembles its iOS-powered devices.

DigiTimes from Taiwan has reported this week that Foxconn and Pegatron are now gearing up for the volume production of the iPhone 6. The manufacturing activities of the two assemblers are expected to peak by July this year, which is for the 4.7-inch model.

For the first iPhone phablet, which according to analysts will sport a 5.5-inch screen profile, the target date is August. There was no mention in the report of separate release dates so it is possible that Apple plans to bring the two iPhone 6s in the market at the same time.

DigiTimes indicated too that the bulk of the Apple order is for the smaller iPhone so it is likely that shipments for the two models will be ready by the first week of September in the event the tech giant is indeed planning to unbox the two iPhones together in the month.

According to the same report, Foxconn is tasked to deliver 70 per cent of total iPhone 6 shipments from 2014 to 2015 while the rest is reserved to Pegatron.

A third player, Wistron, is also part of the 2014 iPhone thrust but the company is confined for now in building the legacy iPhone with 4-inch screen. It is understood that Wistron will put together new iPhone 5S that Apple will market as replacement for the 'budget phone' iPhone 5C.

In a related news, well-known Apple-focused analyst Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities has reiterated his earlier projection that Touch ID is coming on board with the iPhone 6. The technology, in fact, will be deployed across the board, Kuo added.

"We believe every new iOS device launched this year will be equipped with Touch ID, including 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch new iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 2 with Retina display," the analyst was reported by MacRumors as saying.

With the latest KGI note, Touch ID is now among the confirmed killer features that the iOS 8-powered iPhone 6 is poised to deliver on release date, the countdown of which should start to tick in the early days of September 2014.
