Despite being busy in this year’s transfer market, Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini confessed that the club’s summer signings might not be over yet. The 61-year-old Pellegrini said the City could make further acquisitions before the start of the season, but has not named any targets yet.

Pellegrini said that City has been trying to have a strong squad and claims he does not talk about rumours and names because the club is “not sure who will come” at Etihad as noted by Goal.com. He added that people will know when City will make a move to get new football players. The Sky Blues have been linked to Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba and Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne.

"Our target is to try and have the strongest squad. I am not talking about names or positions but in the next days probably you will see who will arrive here,” Pellegrini said.

City has been busy in the transfer window bringing midfielder Fabian Delph from Aston Villa and getting youngsters Patrick Roberts and Enes Unal. The Premiere League club’s biggest signing this year was former Liverpool striker Raheem Sterling, who reportedly cost the team $76 million.

Meanwhile, Pellegrini was pleased with Sterling’s City debut in a friendly match against AS Roma in Melbourne. The 20-year-old Sterling opened the scoring as early as three minutes in the opening period and was praised by Pellegrini for the youngster’s speed and ability to quickly find the net.

"He just played 45 minutes as he's only worked a few days. He demonstrates why he's here, not only as player now but I think he will improve a lot in the future, playing with Yaya, Silva and Aguero,” Pellegrini said according to 90min.com.

City defeated Roma 5-4 on penalty kicks after a 2-2 stalemate in normal time. Goalkeeper Joe Hart was the Sky Blues’ hero in the shootout after saving two kicks from the Italian opponents.
