‘True Detective’ Season 2 Episode 2 ‘Night Finds You’ Investigates Ben Caspar’s Autopsy
“True Detective” season 2 episode 2 titled “Night Finds You” will air on June 28. The second episode of the HBO series’ sophomore season will feature the investigation of Vinci's city manager Ben Caspar’s autopsy.
In “True Detective” season 2 episode 2, detectives Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell) and Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams) will try to figure out if the gruesome details of Ben Caspar’s death has something to do with prostitutes.
The late Vinci's city manager was fond of prostitutes, according to the episode’s synopsis on TV. On the other hand, mobster Frank Seymon (Vince Vaugn) will do an investigation of his own and it has something to do with his missing fortune.
Aired on June 21, True Detective” season 2 episode 1 titled “The Western Book of the Dead” featured the first meeting between Ray Velcoro, Ani Bezzerides and California Highway Patrol officer Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch).
According to HBO, the story of “True Detective” season 2 will revolve around “a bizarre murder” that will bring together a career criminal and three law-enforcement officers. Each of them is in a mission to “navigate a web of conspiracy and betrayal in the scorched landscapes of California.”
In the premiere episode of the HBO series’ second season, Ray Velcoro was introduced as a detective in the fictional city of Vinci. The detective is owned by Frank Seymon, who was extremely upset because of the disappearance of Ben Caspar.
While Ray Velcoro was investigating Ben Caspar’s disappearance, Ani Bezzerides was looking for a missing girl. Eventually, the two were tasked to work together. Paul Woodrugh, on the other hand, was currently on an administrative leave from his job when he found Ben Caspar’s body.
Both Matthew McConaughey and Woodey Harrelson, who played the lead characters detectives Rust Cohle and Marty Hart in the first season of “True Detective” are yet to appear in the second season.
McConaughey is currently filming the 2016 animation film “Kubo and the Two Strings,” in which he lends his voice to one of the characters along with Charlize Theron and Ralph Fiennes, among others. On the other hand, Harrelson has completed the 2016 crime drama “Triple 9,” in which he will star opposite “The Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus and “Breaking Bad” alum Aaron Paul.
