Consumers may see not one, but two, iPhones this year, according to insiders from Apple's supply chain.

C Technology cited @PunkPanda who allegedly spilled the beans saying that two iPhones are on its way. According to said sources, Apple will go differently this year and will release the next iPhone in two sizes: one with a 4.7-inch screen and another with a 5.7-inch display, or bigger.

This is supported by a report from NPD DisplaySearch published last November, which mentioned that Apple might release the iPhone 6 in two versions: one with a 4.7-inch display and another with a 5.7-inch screen.

Normally, people would be skeptical with this kind of rumour. However, since Apple threw away its guide book and broke its tradition last year with the release of the cheaper iPhone 5C, reports say there is a possibility that this could be in the cards.

Speculations arise that the iPhone with 4.7-inch screen will be the successor to the iPhone 5S, while the one with a bigger screen will enter the phablet category battling the Samsung Galaxy Note series and HTC One Max. This coincides with previous rumours that Apple will enter the battlefield in the phablet market currently dominated by its rivals.

Another detail that is being mentioned in a G4Games report is that both devices will come with "biometrics". This means fingerprint recognition and/or something more advanced like iris recognition may make its way to the new smartphone.

So far, Apple still has not confirmed the specs and features as well as the release date of iPhone 6. However, the latest rumours claimed that the iPhone 6 release date may take place either in March or September. Many think that these are the perfect times for Apple to release a new flagship phone.

Meanwhile, rumours stated that the iPhone 6 will also pack a 64-bit A7 processor and M7 graphics chip that were packed first in the iPhone 5S. Moreover, the latest Apple patents spotted online hinted on some features that may land on the iPhone 6 such as a curved, flexible screen display with Liquidmetal, refocusable light camera, improved Siri and gesture controls.
