It took and unconventional circumstance to give Ultimate Fighting Championship, or UFC, women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey her first defeat. The 28-year-old judoka is slated to release her autobiography entitled, “My Fight/Your Fight” in May however, mall giant Walmart is not making it available in its stores after deeming the content “too violent” for its brand.

Rousey, who is also a cast member of the latest instalment of the “Fast and the Furious 7” film, responded to the actions of Walmart, despite the company’s pronouncement that they are making the book available online. The bankable draw of the UFC took to social media site Instagram her opinion of the snub of her recent endeavour, which she penned with her sister.

“’Success is the best revenge’ one of many lessons I learned from fighting that helped me fight through life's battles off the mat and outside the octagon. @walmart is welcome to watch the success of this publication from the sidelines if they choose,” Rousey wrote in her home page.

Walmart, for its part, did not explicitly offer the reasons for the exclusion but offered that there are a variety of reasons that the company considers before offering any merchandise to the public. The company has taken some flak for its decision after some observers pointed out that it sold in its stands the book “American Sniper,” which was the basis of the Oscar-nominated film of the same title.

Rousey’s upcoming book is due to come out on May 12 from publishing house Regan Arts, and many interested buyers have already reserved thousands of copies at Barnes and Nobles. The controversy has generated additional buzz for the book with Rousey already slated to appear at “Good Morning America,” to discuss her latest endeavours including the Walmart issue. She is also scheduled to appear in the June movie, “Entourage” and is books for her next title defence against Brazilian sensation Bethe Correia in a much-hyped fight that will be held in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil this coming August.
