On the third week of September, the U.S. edition of Sony Mobile's official Web site launched the preorders for all of its latest flagship products such as Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. According to PhoneArena, the Sony Xperia Z3 will be available for purchase through T-Mobile in the U.S. on Oct 29. The Xperia Z3 Compact can also be purchased from the Sony's official Web site.

As of now, none of the leading carriers of the U.S. are offering the Xperia Z3 Compact. Hence, the Japanese tech giant is selling the handset unlocked for a price of $530 in the U.S. The unlocked edition will allow customers to choose a carrier that suits their preference without committing to long-term agreements with carriers.

GSMArena claims that the Xperia Z3 Compact is temporarily out of stock but the shipping of the handset is expected to start soon. The powerful handset is available in four colors: black, white, green and orange.

Since the Xperia Z3 Compact supports GSM and LTE, users can avail cellular service through AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Currently, the handset is not available through Sprint and Verizon.

As the name suggests, the Xperia Z3 Compact is a mini version of the Xperia Z3 smartphone. The compact edition packs specs similar to that of the bigger Xperia Z3. Xperia Z3 Compact measures 127.3 x 64.9 x 8.6 mm and it weighs 129 g.

The IP68 certification means the handset is resistant to water and dust. It is also equipped with 4.6-inch IPS LCD display screen that supports a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels along with 319 ppi.

The Xperia Z3 Compact is powered by a Snapdragon 801 chipset with a quad-core Krait 400 processor that offers a clocking speed of 2.5 GHz and Adreno 330 graphics. The handset also features 2 GB RAM.

The internal storage of Xperia Z3 Compact is 16 GB and the external storage supports up to 128 GB of microSD. The rear camera is 20.7 MP whereas the front-facing camera is 2.2 MP. The Xperia Z3 Compact is housed with 2600 mAh battery.
