Upcoming Apple iPad Air 2 (iPad 6), iPad Mini 3 Images Leaked: Features Touch ID
The speculations and rumors surrounding the upcoming Apple iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3 are abundant with periodically leaked information popping out from time to time. A recently leaked image by Steve Hemmerstoffer from Nowhereelse.fr points to a next generation Apple iPad Air 2. Interested readers can scroll down to see the image from Twitter. The image shows the upcoming iPad Air 2 and an iPhone 5S on top of it. Even though Hemmerstoffer did not provide any information as to how he got hold of the image; he introduced the device as Apple iPad 6.
Apple iPad Air 2 (or Apple iPad 6)
According to the image, the long-rumored Touch ID fingerprint scanner features on the Apple iPad 6's home button. Thus, confirming the existence of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor in the upcoming next generation iPad Air.
The other salient features of the iPad Air 2 also known as iPad 6 include the same 9.7 inches display as the predecessor iPad Air and it packs a screen resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels. The device will reportedly be powered by Apple's next generation A8 processor. The iPad Air 2 will house an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera unit, whereas the original iPad Air features only a 5 megapixel camera.
Apple iPad Mini 3
Only yesterday, we reported a leak pertaining to the upcoming Apple iPad Mini 3 that confirmed that the Touch ID (Fingerprint scanner) features in the next generation Mini device. The recently leaked image shows the next generation iPad Mini, the iPad Air 2 and the iPhone 6. In addition, the iPad Mini 3 is expected to come with the split-screen (multi window) functionality.
Other significant Apple iPad Mini 3 features include a 7.9 inches display with 2,048 × 1,536 screen resolution. The Mini will be powered by Apple's A8 processor and will run on the recently launched Apple iOS 8. In addition, it will house an 8 MP camera unit same as the rumoured iPad 6, and a waterproof exterior.
If the rumors are true, Apple will be slashing the price of the current iPad Mini 2 device. This news further corroborates that the heavily rumoured launch of iPad Mini 3 is nearing.
