Reports indicated that Nokia is working on an upcoming Nokia Lumia 'phablet' as a new contender in the tough competition of devices in the market. ICTech, a Chinese technology publication recently leaked an image of the Nokia phablet's front panel on their Weibo account to increase the hype on the new device.

The leaked image shows the Nokia Lumia phablet's thin bezel with the Finnish company's branding on top just below the device's earpiece, the signature Windows button and a space left for a front-facing camera as well as the sensor. The Chinese publication further added that Nokia has already started the mass production of the phablet that features a 6-inch screen display.

No other details on the Nokia Lumia phablet have been revealed aside from the screen's leaked image. Expectations on the upcoming Nokia phablet include the Full HD screen and the power of a quad-core CPU.

The Chinese publication cited as well that the Nokia Lumia phablet will be comparable in size to the rival Samsung Galaxy Note but with highly developed specifications. It is anticipated that the Nokia phablets can battle the South Korean technology giant's Galaxy Note and Galaxy Mega series perhaps with a more affordable price.

Nokia has plans of launching more devices including the large screen-sized smartphone-tablet. Recently, the Finnish company has unveiled the largest Lumia range, the Nokia Lumia 625, with its 4.7-inch screen size compared to the 4.5-inch screen display found on the other Nokia Lumia Windows Phone handsets.

The Nokia Lumia 625 is currently the biggest Nokia phone yet that has 4G connectivity. Features and specs include the 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 5MP rear-facing camera, 2000mAh battery, Windows Phone 8 OS with Nokia's Amber update and 8GB internal storage capacity that can be expanded up to 64GB through the microSD card slot.
