As reported earlier, the Huawei P8 smartphone will not be unveiled in Barcelona at the MWC 2015 event, scheduled for March. Alternatively, the device is heading to London and the new Huawei P8 release date is slated for April 15.

Aside from the release date, the recently posted information on the Chinese social networking site Weibo provides details about the specifications and price of the handset. Going by the post, the Huawei P8 will reportedly sport a “zirconium oxide porcelain uni-body design.” Apparently, the double-sided glass display panel will reportedly get Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the handset will be powered by an octa-core (Kirin 930) processor, formulated using the 16 nm process. If reports are true, the Huawei’s Kirin 930 will likely be the first chip to use this 16 nm process. In comparison, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, Apple A8 and Apple A8X chipsets use 20 nm process, notes Phone Arena.

Moving on to the speculated Huawei P8 specifications, the device will reportedly feature a 5.2-inch display, packed with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution. The handset is believed to be backed by a good 3 GB of RAM configuration. When it comes to the camera specification, there will reportedly be a 13 MP rear-facing unit, along with the support for Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). Speaking of size, the P8 will reportedly be ultra thin at only 6 mm. This means, the handset will be thinner than the Apple iPhone 6 at 6.9 mm thickness.

On the other hand, the Weibo post also reveals the pricing details of the Huawei P8 at 2999 yuan, which roughly translates to $480 equivalent. As far as the battery configuration goes, the smartphone will come housed with only a modest 2,600 mAh unit to make sure the device is lighter and thinner. Nonetheless, the company might opt for internal optimisations to make the modest battery sustain longer battery life, in the likes of the HTC One (M8), says the same site.

However, none of the above specifications have been confirmed by Huawei so far. What do you think of the Huawei P8? Feel free to leave a comment.
