Sony Xperia Z3 has cleared the TENAA certification, the Chinese equivalent of FCC, recently. The single-SIM variant of the Xperia Z3 is referred as Sony L55t and the dual-SIM variant is dubbed as Sony L55u in China.

Out of all the revealed specifications, the dual-SIM support, is the least expected because the predecessor did not come with one. Even though, there are umpteen leaked and rumoured specifications making rounds online, none of them hinted on the dual-SIM support. Apparently, many popular and top-selling phones in China come with either dual-SIM support or there will be a variant supporting two SIMs, according to Phone Arena.

Furthermore, the Sony Xperia Z3 handset's leaked image shows a slimmer profile in addition to showing a compact overall look. Also, the listed information from the official website pertaining to TENAA corroborates earlier rumours. The upcoming Sony Xperia Z3 will predominantly be similar to the currently available Xperia Z2.

Apart from the dual-SIM support, the Xperia Z3 will reported come in amber (golden) hue along with the standard colours black and white. It is worth noting that Sony has also been releasing purple-coloured Xperia handsets, so far, apart from the standard colours. However, if the reports are true, amber colour will replace the purple shade.

When it comes to key specifications, the Xperia Z3 will feature a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display packed with 1080p screen resolution. The handset will be 7.4 mm thick and will weigh 158 g. The Xperia Z2, on the other hand, is 8.2 mm thick and 163 g in weight. Hence, the upcoming device will be both lighter and thinner than the Xperia Z2.

Also, the Xperia device will be powered by a slightly better Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz, while the Xperia Z2 is clocked at 2.3 GHz. It is worth mentioning that earlier rumours pointed to a powerful Snapdragon 805 processor for the upcoming Xperia Z3. Nevertheless, the phone will house a solid 3 GB of RAM.

When it comes to camera, the device will sport the same 20.7 MP rear-facing camera unit and a 2 MP front-facing shooter. Also, the Sony handset will come equipped with 16 GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for expansion.

Notably, the two versions that got approved by TENAA include China-exclusive network connectivity and the other one supports regular GSM and LTE connectivity. Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z3 at the IFA event scheduled for Sept. 3.
