More Android devices join the Android 4.4.2 KitKat family as HTC One M7 receives the update. Users of the device can now update to the software with LG G2 following suit. Android updates are always carried out in stages. This explains why some users can access the program earlier than others while others need to wait. Updating devices to the latest Android software is ideal for those who wish to take a step closer to the upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Sprint has released the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for HTC One M7 according to Android Geeks. The software bears the build number: 5.05.651.2. People can now start checking their device for the notification.
The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update offers security improvements and other bug fixes from Google. The software aims to enhance the overall performance of the device. The firmware takes up about 325.18 MB. Users are advised to secure a good mobile data connection to avoid any problems.
Reports noted that the security tweaks should have been rolled out with the Android 4.4.4 KitKat though Sprint and HTC appear to have other plans. The companies decided to skip the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update and include the enhancements in the Android 4.4.2 update. For those who have not received the notification, check the update manually via All Apps > Settings> System Updates> HTC Software Update. Tap "Check Now" button to see the option.
In another report by Android Central, LG G2 has also started receiving the Android 4.4.2 treatment with another Sprint release. The latest build is based on ZVE offering LTE improvements as well as changes in the HD Voice. Google has also added additional security patches. Sprint has not listed additional enhancements under the changelog of the device. Nonetheless, users are guaranteed to experience a better LG G2 experience with the minor tweaks and UI enhancements.
