UPDATE: Lorde Calls 12-Year-Old Fan ‘The Coolest Girl Ever’ [VIDEO]
UPDATE: According to Nicole Jones (@darling_nikkii), the 12-year-old girl’s name is Alexis, not Amanda. The twitter user @longlivelorde is not the same girl in the video.
Lorde just made the day, possibly the entire year, of a 12-year-old girl. The Kiwi music star, who is slightly older at 17, called her fan “the coolest girl ever” after watching a video of her surprised reaction to Lorde’s concert tickets.
In the over two-minute video, the girl, identified as Amanda, was surprised by her parents with tickets to Lorde’s concert in Ohio. They teased her first with a few various coupons, including a zip line coupon. When she got to the Lorde concert ticket, the schoolgirl cried for joy.
“I get to see Lorde!” she shouted.
Amanda originally thought they were heading to the water park, so going to Lorde’s show was quite an unexpected but delightful surprise.
“So we’re not going to the water park?” Amanda asked her parents again before she continued bawling.
As if that’s not the best news already, Amanda received another surprise when Lorde herself saw the video and retweeted it to her 2.24 million followers.

Amanda’s reaction to Lorde’s tickets was cool enough, but her reaction to her idol re-tweeting her video and calling her “the coolest girl ever” was even more epic.

Later on, she posted a photo of Lorde while performing in the same concert she unexpectedly attended on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Lorde has revealed first single and art cover to the new “The Hunger Games: Mockinjay Part One” movie, starring Jennifer Lawrence.
The single is called “Yellow Flicker Beat,” and will be released on September 29, as the Grammy Award winner revealed on her Twitter.
