Update Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.4 KitKat Custom ROM with S4 T-Mobile Update
Samsung Galaxy S3 users who wish to update their devcies to Android 4.4.4 KitKat can now do so through the AICP Android 4.4.4 custom ROM. The firmware caters to S3 owner son T-Mobile.
According to Team Android, the new AICP custom ROM comes packed with new features based on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update. Users can expect the following components once they upgraded to the software:
- AOKP features
- TRDS Dark switch
- Halo
- OmniSwitch
- Profiles
- Lock screen Notifications
- Active Display
- Wakelock blocker
- System app Remover
- Animations
- Lock screen color theming
- Lock screen blur
There are also improvements on gestures and other related functions.
Requirements before installation:
-Users must make sure that their devices have installed recovery tools like the ClockworkMod Recovery.
-The device should be charged at least 80% to avoid power interruptions.
-All important files should be backed up.
Installation Instructions:
1. Download the file packages for AICP Android 4.4.4 ROM and Google Apps.
2. Connect the device to a computer via USB.
3. Transfer the Android 4.4.4 ROM and Google Apps zip files to the SD card.
4. Turn off device and disconnect from the computer.
5. Switch to Recovery Mode by pressing the following buttons: Volume Up + Home + Power.
6. In ClockworkMod Recovery, do a full data wipe. Do this by choosing "wipe data/factory reset."
7. Do a cache wipe after by selecting "wipe cache partition."
8. Install files from the SD card.
9. Choose files from the SD card and begin installation.
10. Follwing installation, select "+++++Go Back+++++." Choose "reboot system now" to reboot the device.
The device should be running on the new firmware. Android Geeks also reported T-Mobile's release of the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA for Samsung Galaxy S4. Firmware build for the update is N910TUVU1ANK4.
