Update Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 with Android 4.4.2 KitKat Imperium Custom ROM
Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE users can now update through Android 4.4.2 KitKat Imperium Custom ROM. Samsung and carriers have to complete the roll out of the update yet but users can choose to upgrade their devices manually. The Galaxy S4 I9505 LTE Imperium ROM offers a similar experience to the Galaxy S5 firmware. Likewise the Custom ROM also draws from the official firmware XXEUFNC9 build under Samsung.
As mentioned, the IMPERIUM ROM gives Samsung Galaxy S4 users to bring the same UI and animation experience as with the Samsung Galaxy S5. There are also a wide variety of mods allowing people to tailor their OS to their preferences. According to Team Android, the ROM offers a fast, smooth and stable experience.
Important Note: Users should understand that the IMPERIUM ROM is not an official firmware from Samsung. Providers of the update cannot be held responsible for what happens to the device following installation. Users can update at their own risk.
Details of the firmware are as follows:

Prior to installation, users should satisfy the following requirements:
-Back up all important information and make sure there is a recovery program installed. Options include ClockWorkMod Touch Recovery and TWRP Recovery.
-The Samsun Galaxy S4 handset should be rooted.
-Make sure the device is at least 80% charged.
-Enable USB Debugging.
-The ROM caters specifically to Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 variant. Trying the ROM on other models may lead to a bricked device.
Installation Steps:
1. Download the Android 4.4.2 Imperium ROM including the Google Apps package.
2. Connect the handset to the computer via USB cable.
3. Transfer the custom ROM and Google Apps package to the SD card of the device. The files should be in the SD card root.
4. Turn off the device and disconnect from the computer.
5. Switch to Recovery Mode. Turn on the mobile device. Press and hold the Power, Volume Up and Home button all together.
6. When in ClockworkMod Recovery, wipe out all data by choosing "wipe data/factory reset." The Power button can be used to choose items under Recovery Mode.
7. Choose "wipe cache partition" to erase cache.
8. Wiping the dalvik cache is optional. This ensures users do not experience boot loops. To do this, open "Advanced" then choose "wipe dalvik cache."
9. Return to the main recovery area and choose "install zip from SD card."
10. Click on "choose zip from sdcard." Go to the ROM zip file. Navigate using Volume Keys and select using the Power button. Proceed and confirm. Do the same steps for the Google Apps package.
11. Wait for the installation to be completed then choose "+++++Go Back+++++." Reboot the handset by choosing "reboot system now."
The device should boot for a few minutes before running on the update.
