A preview video for the fantasy-drama TV series "Vampire Diaries" Season 5 was recently released to provide the fans with a sneak peek of the new changes that will happen. The "Impostor Preview" appears to focus on doppelgangers with Damon Salvatore giving his snide comment about them.

"If I have to hear doppelganger one more time, I'm going to have to learn how to spell it," actor Ian Somerhalder stated as the vampire character Damon suggesting that he despises them. Ace Showbiz initially shared the "Vampire Diaries" preview on Friday, August 30, showing that new faces, new changes and new surprises will happen in Season 5.

Damon mentioning doppelgangers could mean that he will find out about the evil plans of Silas in the upcoming episodes. The "Vampire Diaries" brief promo trailer also gives the viewers a quick look at Damon not pleased to see Katherine, a happy and very much in-love Damon and Elena saying "I love you" to each other, a seductive batch scene with Katherine and Silas and a car crashing at a light pole without revealing who is inside the vehicle.

The preview video is an addition to the previously released CW photo featuring actor Ian Somerhalder for the "Vampire Diaries" Season 5 promotion. Co-star Kat Graham did her own advertising during an interview with Access Hollywood stating that she is "excited" for the fans in seeing her work in the premiere episode.

Ian Somerhalder has shown devotion to his involvement in the successful TV series, but somehow did not show support with the "Vampire Diaries" spin-off. "Now, they're going to be taking these characters that mean so much to our show. I'm insanely happy for everyone, but I'm not thrilled. Not that I mind sharing, I just don't want to lose all these amazing actors on our show," Mr Somerhalder stated about the new TV series.

Cast members Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies and Claire Holt heads to the spin-off series called "The Originals" scheduled to premiere on October 8 at 8 p.m. Eastern time. On the other hand, "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 returns on October 3 at the CW Television Network.
