Verizon-Bound Selfie Phone 'Nokia Lumia 735' Clears FCC
Microsoft announced the Nokia Lumia 735 in September. And the device has recently been spotted at the FCC site. Apparently, the smartphone cleared FCC and supports Verizon's network frequencies. Meaning, sooner or later, interested buyers in the U.S. can avail the smartphone from Verizon. In addition, the Lumia 735 will also support Big Red's LTE connectivity.
Even though Verizon and Microsoft have not officially announced the release date yet, speculation is it would be very soon because of the upcoming holiday season. On the contrary, a report cropped up in October time frame, stating the Lumia 735 will only be available in 2015, according to GSM Arena. Hence, there is no clarity at this point to ascertain when the handset will hit store shelves.
GSM Arena hopes the Lumia 753 would be a budget-friendly device based on its specifications and features. But in case Microsoft plans to price the device higher, like in the case of Lumia 830, the deal would be disappointing for the company, says the same site. Nonetheless, this smartphone has been released in selected regions, and one such market is the UK. The price of the listed Lumia 735 under UK's O2 Telecommunications is 159.99 GBP, which roughly translates to 256 USD and 297 AUD.
Moving on to key features, the Nokia Lumia 735 comes with a pocket-friendly 4.7-inch AMOLED display complemented by 720 x 1,280 pixel screen resolution. The phone is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) Cortex-A7 processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz and backed by a modest 1 GB of RAM. Under the hood, the Llumia 735 handset runs on Windows Phone 8.1 OS.
Speaking of camera, the device sports a 6.7 MP rear-facing camera unit with Carl Zeiss lens and LED flash, in addition to a surprisingly good 5 MP front-facing shooter for selfies. The device offers 8 GB of internal storage with microSD card support for expansion up to 128 GB and comes equipped with 2,200 mAh battery unit. This battery can provide up to 17 hours of talk time and 600 hours of stand-by time. Also, the handset supports wireless charging, NFC and 4G LTE. Lastly, the Lumia 735 comes in vivid and fresh colours like orange, green, white and black.
In case the Lumia 735 is set for a 2015 release, will the housed configurations not be outdated by then? Feel free to leave a comment.
