Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Leaked Images Show Up, Speculated To Feature Snapdragon 805, 3 GB RAM, 20 MP Camera And Quad HD Display
Speculations of Motorola working on Moto Droid Turbo smartphone that will be made available through Verizon began in August. After that Motorola released the Moto X 2014, the Moto G and the Moto 360 smartwatch were revealed at the beginning week of September.
The Moto Droid Turbo is being referred to as a super smartphone blessed with powerful specifications. Recently, couple of leaked images of the handset have surfaced.
Droid is the brand name for smartphones that are rolled out by Motorola that are exclusively available on Verizon Wireless network. In August 2013, Motorola had released three Verizon Wireless Droid phones namely, the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini. In 2014, Motorola has not launched a Droid smartphone yet.
In August, screenshots of Verizon Droid Turbo through a famous app called CPU-Z had surfaced on AndroidAuthority. A lot was revealed about the Droid Turbo specifications by the app. There can be a high possibility that the new screenshots may turn out to be fake, but the arrival of the device is imminent as Verizon and Motorola were posting teasers on the official DroidLanding Twitter account.
According to AndroidAuthority, the model number of Verizon Droid Turbo smartphone that is under the wraps is XT1254 (quark_Verizon). Interesting thing to note is that the model number includes 'XT' that has been used by Motorola for its RAZR series of smartphones.
Verge adds that instead of releasing multiple Droid smartphones, Motorola is looking poised to launch only one Droid model this year. The Motorola XT1254 screenshots reveal that the smartphone will be powered with the most recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor with Krait 450 CPU architecture. It clocks at 2.65GHz and comes with Adreno 420 graphics. The Droid Turbo leaked image also reveals that it features 3GB RAM.
There is no mention whether the Droid Turbo will feature a microSD card slot or not. It will be running on the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.
The display screen size of Motorola Droid Turbo is not known yet, but it is going to support 1,440 x 2,560 pixels quad HD resolution with 360 x 640 DPI. Since other smartphones featuring the same display resolution has at least 5.2inch screen size so we feel even the Droid Turbo will come housed with a screen of similar size.
Speculations indicate that the Droid Turbo houses a 20MP camera at the rear side. The Motorola Droid phones that came out last year featured 10MP camera. The front-facing camera is rumored to be of 2MP. The device is rumored to have cleared Bluetooth SIG certification in the United States and now it will be heading towards FCC clearance.
As of now, Motorola hast not revealed anything about the Droid Turbo. On Friday, Moto X 2014 is going to launch on Verizon's network.
