Samsung has listed the Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition on its U.S. website. It is not available for purchase, but according to the site it will be available soon with Verizon. PhoneArena claims that the Developer Edition may not be made available through other carriers. The device will reportedly be priced at $662.53 and buyers do not need to sign up for a contract with Verizon to get the handset.

According to Droid Life, the regular Galaxy Note 4 is priced at $699.99, which indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition is cheaper. In the past, Samsung has rolled out a Develope Edition of Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S5. The devices were made available on Verizon's network without a contract as well.

The Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition is the very same Galaxy Note 4 handset. The only difference is that the Developer Edition has an unlocklable bootloader. In other words, the device has been designed for developers that will give access to certain developer-friendly advanced settings. According to PhoneDog, Samsung said that the device does not have FCC certification yet, which is why the handset is unavailable for purchase at the moment.

The Samsung webpage for Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition only lists the Charcoal Black colour variant of the device. It features the quad HD 5.7-inch display screen of 2560 x 1440 pixels with 515 ppi. It is fitted with a Snapdragon 805 SoC. The handset will be running on Android v4.4 KitKat. It comes with the S-Pen stylus. The rear camera is of 16 MP and comes with Optical Image Stabilization feature. The front features a 3.7 MP camera. It is packed with a 3220 mAh battery.

Phandroid feels that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition might just fail to gain any popularity. The reason behind it is that very soon the Google Nexus 6 will be available on Verizon. It would be the first Nexus handset to come to Verizon since the Galaxy Nexus.
