Very rare ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ collectible coin spotted at U.S. military bases
One of the practices of game developers, publishers and retailers nowadays is to offer players with limited edition collectibles for various titles. Recently, a collectible for “Halo 5: Guardians” was unveiled, but getting it is not as easy as paying extra money for the game.
Apparently, some U.S. military bases are offering a copy of “Halo 5: Guardians” along with a special collectible coin. Not all bases have the coin, and there’s no list as to where it is available as well. The collectible coin is twice the size of a quarter and also features other colours aside from silver.
The collectible coin, first seen on Reddit, features both Spartan Locke and Master Chief on one side. The two are the main playable characters in the game’s campaign. The characters are facing off against each other, similar to some promotional materials for the title.
The back side of the coin is also designed to commemorate “Halo 5: Guardians.” It features the title of the game, an image of a Guardian and the five branches of the U.S. military, namely, the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard.
Sadly, not all gamers can get their hands on the rare find. Only real U.S. soldiers can secure one of the coins, Techtimes reports. It was also said that not all soldiers who buy the game can get the collectible coin. Developer 343 Industries did not detail how many coins there are in total.
The coin is very rare, and some have even reported seeing it go up for sale on eBay. As such, the coin is selling for high amounts of money, reaching up to a hundred dollars.
