Victoria Beckham reveals what made her decide to marry People’s 'Sexiest Man Alive' David Beckham
Fashion designer Victoria Beckham has revealed her reasons for loving the father of her four children and this year’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” David Beckham.
In an interview, Victoria told People magazine that she adores her husband David for his commitment to family. The British designer recalled that the first time she saw David was when he was with his family.
“The first time I met David, nearly 20 years ago, we were at a football match. After the game, all the other players were having a drink with their friends and David was standing with his mum and dad and his younger sister Joanne,” she said. Victoria continued, “Family is important to him.”
With David’s full commitment to family, the mother-of-four revealed that her husband proposed first to her dad. She thought that this move of David was a “respectful” thing to do.
Besides being a family man, Victoria added that David is not just sexy but also romantic. The former “Spice Girls” member said the “romantic” side of David made their relationship stronger over the years.
“David is very romantic and we regularly do lovely things to surprise each other,” she said.
Both Victoria, 41, and David, 40, have been busy traveling a lot for work. Despite the differences in their schedule, the fashion designer claimed that she and her husband always make sure to find ways to see each other and their children.
Victoria said she’s thankful that her husband David hasn’t changed for 16 years, telling the magazine that, “We always support each other and our family.”
During her acceptance speech for the Glamorous’ “Women of the Year” award on Nov. 9, the designer credited her husband David for her success. The awardee said she wouldn’t be able to achieve such success as a mom, a UNAIDS ambassador and a businesswoman without David’s full support.
“Not only is he the most incredible father, but he is supportive and someone who loves and inspires me every single day,” she said.
E News reports that David was at Buenos Aires at the time, so their oldest son Brooklyn escorted Victoria at the event. The football hall of famer, however, congratulated Victoria through a recorded video with their children.
Victoria and David have been married for 16 years and live a happy family with their four children -- Brooklyn Joseph, 16; Romeo James, 13; Cruz David, 10; and Harper Seven, 4.
