A video about using the "Like a Girl" phrase as a compliment than an insult has gone viral on YouTube. Millions have already viewed the said YouTube clip which was directed by filmmaker Lauren Greenfield. The "Like a Girl" video is part of an advertisement campaign for Always, a brand known for making feminine products including sanitary pads, panty liners and tampons. Read on to learn more about it.

As of this writing the said video featuring the "Like a Girl" phrase has been viewed by 41,084,939 users with 137,280 giving it the thumbs up. However, not all those who viewed it liked it because 16,199 users gave it the thumbs down.

Greenfield spoke about girls, stereotypes and its negative effect.

"In my work as a documentarian, I have witnessed the confidence crisis among girls and the negative impact of stereotypes first-hand," said Greenfield.

She said that the words "like a girl" should be used positively instead of negatively to encourage and empower women to be proud of themselves and their abilities. She also expressed her excitement in partnering with Always for the "Like a Girl" campaign.

Meanwhile, Always is spreading the campaign in the Internet by utilizing popular sites such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram to get their important message across to numerous people and hopefully, change their views about using the "Like a Girl" phrase.
