‘The Voice’ casts Kelly Rowland, singer excited to head to Australia
US pop singer Kelly Rowland has signed to join the “The Voice” Australia this year. The 35-year-old will be one of the judges, along with Boy George, Seal and Delta Goodrem. Rowland has expressed her excitement to be part of the reality show and shared that Australia is one of her favourite places to go.
In a statement, Rowland has shared that she has been a fan of “The Voice” for many years now and that she is excited to join the show, especially in Australia. “It's going to be an amazing experience and I can't wait for this season to begin," Rowland said.
Herald Sun has learned that Rowland will travel with her two-year-old son, Titan. The singer has shared about her plans to introduce him to some local wildlife. “I can’t wait to take him to the zoo,” she said.
Rowland is best known as a former Destiny's Child member, a '90s pop act that also introduced Beyonce Knowles and Michelle Williams. Her casting in “The Voice” Australia 2017 is expected to help boost the show's ratings.
It is safe to say that Rowland has a huge fan base, with Destiny’s Child having sold 60 million albums worldwide and Rowland another 40 million on her own. Some of the singer’s hits as a solo artists include “When Love Takes Over”, “Work” and “Commander.”
Rowland has previously worked as a judge on “The X Factor” in the US and the UK. She was also part of “Everybody Dance Now,” a Network 10 reality show in 2012.
Rowland has started pursuing her musical dreams at a young age of 11. She married Tim Witherspoon in 2014.
“The Voice” Australia will air on Channel 9 this year with an official air date yet to be announced.
