Hollywood has not recovered from the death of James Gandolfini and it’s been rocked with another loss by the death of one of the most promising stars in the entertainment industry in Glee actor Cory Monteith. Lea Michelle’s off-screen boyfriend was found lifeless at his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada on July 13, 2013.

Police has ruled out any foul-play, but reports claim that the 31-year-old actor could have died of drug overdose. The Vancouver medical coroner has been scheduled to begin autopsy on Monday, July 15, Canada time.

Express of great loss and love for the actor has been shared by his friends, “Glee” co-stars and show’s officials at Fox.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones,” the statement said as posted on Glee’s community page on Facebook.

His girlfriend Lea has stood by Cory even during his troubled times. The actor, who had opened up drug use as young as teen, had voluntarily checked into a rehabilitation center for drug addiction in April 2013. And Michelle, who had supported him back then, reportedly “devastated and inconsolable” has asked for privacy following his death.

“She [Lea Michele] is absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable,” a source was quoted as telling HollywoodLife, adding, “She is devastated beyond belief.”

Cory shot to fame when he appeared on Glee since day one. For someone who had no singing experience as a professional artist, Glee was a big break for the 31-year-old Canadian actor.

As Finn Hudson, Cory has been a great actor since the character was made for him and he was chosen to play it. Cory, as Finn, is among very few actors who could pass for roles and characters a lot younger than their actual age. But what’s more fascinating was Cory holding the microphone and singing his heart out and able to convince Fox executives that he is the best one to play Lea’s on-screen high school lover - - so hot that playing a football player and a captain at that, is just fitting for his great looks.

Fans love him as Finn. His good looks may not have surprised millions of devoted fans as much as his singing talents that he had shown on ‘Glee.”
