In a series of price analyses and predictions, there are two things that come to light: people should expect the most expensive iPhone model yet and around a $100 premium will be placed on the new iPhone products. Initially, iPhone products go on sale starting at $199.99 with contract or on contract. The possible release of the 128GB variant will push the price of the device up. Based on current plans, the largest smartphone can go up to $399.99 on contract. It may be the same for Apple or if the new storage option comes out, more expensive as some analysts pointed out. Raymond James analyst Tavis McCourt supported the additional $100 premium on the new iPhone model according to WSJ's MarketWatch.
As for the off contract iPhone 6, the device should be retailed starting $650 for the 4.7-inch. Nomura Securities predicted the phablet edition to be $100 more as well. Other predictions came from the Sydney Morning Herald setting the price at $1,000 for Australia while Value Walk cited a Spanish analyst saying 750 and 950 Euros can be starting points too. The Cupertino-giant has yet to issue final pricing details about the device.
In a new research cited by the Mirror, Apple handsets ranked as the top target for smartphone theft. Home Secretary, Theresa May, published a Mobile Phone Theft Ratio study offering insight on which smartphones have the highest propensity to be stolen. The data gathered spanned a period from August 2013 to January 2014. A number of iPhone models topped the list including: iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S and iPhone 4S. HTC, Samsung Galaxy and Blackberry phones followed.
"Crime has fallen by more than 10% under this government. This is good news for a safer England and Wales." May noted. This should also be a good insight on what people can expect and should be careful of once Apple releases its next flagship: the iPhone 6.
Apple will be announcing further details of its products during the press event.
