Eco-Friendly Vehicles is the main theme for Automotive World 2012 which would take place in Tokyo, Japan in January 2012.

Vehicles participating in Automotive World 2012 said that their main goal for next year's exhibit is all about being "eco-friendly". There are 3 major fields considered with this goal and one of which is "EV & HEV". EV stands for Electric Vehicle while HEV stands for Hybrid Electric Vehicle. The event, "EV JAPAN - 3rd EV & HEV Drive System Technology Expo" would showcase different car manufacturers that would exhibit this kind of technology. Some of the participants for this exhibit include Fuji Electric, Hitachi Automotive Systems, Nichicon, etc. New technology for motors, inverters, and second batteries would also be included in this exhibit. Toyota Motors, Nissan, Mitsubishi Motors would also exhibit their latest electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the "Electric Vehicle Exhibit Area" inside EV JAPAN.

Another focus for this event would be "weight reduction". This is the main theme for the "2nd Automotive Weight Reduction Expo". Weight reduction is essential for vehicles in order to have more fuel efficiency and travelling performance compatibility. Most automotive manufacturers are more inclined to develop "compact cars" in order to adapt a more eco-friendly strategy in their manufacturing process. Different products and technologies would be exhibited for weight reduction like materials, molding/processing technologies, processing equipment, components/modules, etc.

The last focus for this exhibition would be "fuel-efficiency". For the past years, the automotive industry has put major emphasis on fuel efficiency and this would also be the recurring theme for the "4th Int'l Automotive Electronics Technology Expo". Aside from vehicles that exhibits great "fuel efficiency" when used, this exhibit would also focus on other technologies that would have a great contribution with this aspect. The exhibit would include a variety of components, materials, software, manufacturing equipment, testing technologies, etc. Some of the companies joining this exhibit include Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Telemotive, Vector, etc.

The drive for eco-friendly cars has been going on for some time due to the fact that many companies (aside from the automotive industry) are now leaning towards sustainable growth as part of their company goals. Automotive manufacturers are also leaning towards this goal as the demand for environment-friendly cars are growing. The Automotive World 2012 is a great event for these companies because they would be able to show their own technology when it comes to developing eco-friendly technology and automobiles.
