The big names of the mobile industry are set to congregate in Barcelona from February 27 to March 1 for this year's Mobile World Congress trade show. The MWC will once again introduce the biggest launches in the mobile industry so expect new devices coming out of Barcelona in the upcoming trade show. Here's a preview of what you should expect from the mobile industry's largest annual conference.

Nokia will once again tout its Windows Phone handsets at the MWC. Nokia already confirmed the Lumia 900 at this year's CES trade show in Las Vegas so, industry observers are expecting Nokia to announce a new Windows Phone device. Rumors are that Nokia will announce a high-end HSPA+ smartphone called the Nokia Lumia 910 at MWC. Nokia debunked that rumor but Nokia's press conference on February 27 should still be interesting.

NVIDIA is going to the MWC to showcase its new quad-core Tegra 3 processor. The ridiculously fast processor will be in a smartphone. NVIDIA released the Tegra 3 information last year but this is the first time the processor will actually be seen working in a device. The quad-core processor has been seen in the Asus Transformer Prime tablet but NVIDIA will release detailed descriptions about the processors at MWC and why the future of smartphones is in quad-core processors.

HTC will kick off its new smartphone strategy at MWC with the HTC Ville. The smartphone maker announced a few weeks ago that it won't be releasing as many smartphone models this year instead it's going to concentrate on a few premium devices. The HTC Ville will encapsulate this new strategy. The new smartphone will have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC's Sense skin. HTC will also parade its new 10-inch tablet called the Quattro at MWC. PocketNow reports that this table will have a quad-core Tegra 3 processor.

Sony will come to the Mobile World Congress with its upcoming Xperia phones, the Xperia S and Xperia Ion. There are some rumors that Sony might show-off new Xperia models.

There's a good chance that Research in Motion will have an early demo of its new Black Berry 10 operating system at MWC if only to drum up interest in the upcoming line of Black Berry 10 devices.

Samsung will have a quiet MWC this year. After announcing that it won't introduce the Galaxy S III at the trade show, Samsung has pulled out of a press event at MWC. Samsung will still introduce new mobile devices at MWC but it won't have the same hype as the Galaxy S III.

Microsoft will surely attract the most attention by launching the Consumer Preview version of Windows 8 at MWC. The Consumer Preview will be available on February 29 for the whole world to see how the new OS will work.
