What to Expect for the PS4 Comic Con Panel, GTA 5 PS3 Bundle for Only $269 & More About DualShock 4
Sony is getting ready to bring the PS4 and more games to San Diego for the Comic Con 2013--and this time, if you're one of the lucky attendees, you have the chance to try them out for yourself.
Hot on the heels of Microsoft, who has also announced their participation in the Comic Con and bringing with it the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and a bevy of third-party games for some hands-on action, Sony has also released the games list for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, which you can check out at Booth #301.
Among the games that can be played on the next-gen console, according to VG 24/7, include DriveClub, Knack, and Octodad: Dadliest Catch. On the PS Vita, you can check out six games, Killzone Mercenary, Tearaway, The Walking Dead, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Spelunky, and Dragon's Crown.
For the PS3, you can check out Beyond: Two Souls, Gran Turismo 6, Batman: Arkham Origins, Puppeteer, and Diablo 3--all upcoming and awaited games for the current-gen console.
Also noted for the panel talks is a behind the scenes with Telltale Games for The Walking Dead game series, on July 20 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., if you want to know more about the upcoming series as well as see some exclusive content for the PS Vita.
The DualShock 4: On monitoring stress levels
Next-gen technology has proven to be quite advanced, taking social gaming to a new level as well as bringing new features and effects to enhance gameplay.
It seems that the PS4 has also dabbled with a lot of new potential technologies to experiment with a more heightened gaming experience, and this time, it has also tried to dabble into perfecting--or at least improving--on the art of FPS games, something which Sony has not really come to par with the level of the Xbox 360 and potentially the Xbox One.
"Historically, we have heard many times that our controllers have not been ideal for first-person shooters, so we wanted to make sure we had something that would be much better for that genre," said Mark Cerny, lead architect for the PS4, to Stuff.tv.
"We tested the throw of the triggers, the position of the triggers, how much pressure it takes. We looked at the joysticks, the dead spot, we looked at convexity and concavity."
The great result? So far, no negative comments for the PS4's DualShock 4 from those who have tested it. If anything, it feels natural to the touch.
Granted, Sony is expanding the PS4's gaming territory to go beyond FPS games, but in terms of exclusives, Microsoft has been overshadowing Sony's console with FPS games with the current-gen.
Perhaps this new development in the next-gen console will bring more FPS shooters to Sony's side of the arena, adding value to its already populated indie gaming scene.
Get a GTA 5-PS3 bundle for less than $300
For those who are thinking of buying a new PS3 or may have been waiting for a chance to get a brand-new console in time to play the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 game, now may be the best chance to do so.
According to Joystiq, Amazon is now offering a $269 bundle for a 500GB PS3 with a GTA 5 preorder game. There is also a $299 for those who want a new headset to get started on the kickass game.
Just because the PS4 will be out this holiday season doesn't mean that a PS3 will be a useless investment, as Sony has already confirmed that it will still support the PS3 with a lot of games even with the next-gen console.
In fact, the PS3 is still a major part of the PS Plus service, which will be revamped to offer a $50 per year subscription in exchange for more content and freebies to subscribers.
