Apple recently unveiled their latest operating system, the iOS 7. The new OS is now available for download to a range of Apple devices including iPad and iPhone. Fifth generation iPod touch can also be updated with iOS 7. Apple previously claimed that their new OS packs on more than 200 new features. The list provides details on some of the best hidden features of Apple's newest OS.

Every user can attest using their handsets or devices for many months but only to discover a feature out of the blue. Some buttons or apps seem useless until they are accidentally tapped or pressed. The same can be said about Apple's iOS 7. Only difference, this list will walk through Apple users to help them figure out and take advantage of these hidden features.

Knowing the Time Messages Were Sent

Previously, iOS users do not have a clue when messages are sent. Regular timestamps are not part of the package. Instead of providing a timestamp for every message, the OS just gives a time to determine when the conversation began. It does so periodically. For the iOS 7, users can now check the exact time. They can do this by swiping the message bubbles to the side.

Get a Ringtone on It

It has not been much of a practice for a decade now to sell handsets based on its ringtone. Apple did not mind. During the showcase of the event, the tech giant used that feature to show off their iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. Aside from the collection of ringtones, Apple also now provides a custom vibration menu. The Create New Vibration feature can be found in the Ringtone options. This feature allows users to choose a custom alert rhythm.

Siri Search

Talking to Siri can trigger web searches. What is different with iOS 7 is that search results are now smarter. For example, users can ask the voice prompt to search for an image and it will display the top results from search engines. It is also possible to search by topic or by name. People ask Siri about "what is happening" about a particular site and it will showcase the latest news.

This does not take away the usual conveniences of pulling up cinema and restaurant information or even sports scores.

Never Miss a Link with Safari

Safari now provides a Bookmark menu although it seems Apple has not divulged as much info about it. A user can link the "@" symbol in Bookmarks to check out personal Twitter feeds and the links they contain. This is a simple way of catching up with friends and colleagues but also staying up to date with important links. Users do not have to browse all of their tweets to look for links.

Elocution Lessons with Siri

This feature is great for people with unusual names or surnames. Gone are the days when Siri cannot pronounce words not part of the dictionary. This time, users can call out Siri to correct mispronounced words. Users only need to say "that's not how you pronounce that" to let the voice prompt know it should pronounce the word otherwise. They can run a short exercise to correct names and other terms.
