Before the legendary music icon Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel room at Beverly Hilton, sources from the TMZ site reported that she spent her last few days being highly spiritual.

Close friends and family of the singer said that she was often singing hymns and was always quoting the Bible and even proclaiming of her eagerness to see Jesus. In fact, after her seemingly final performance of her life, she was even heard saying, "I want to see Jesus." At the Tru nightclub in Hollywood, she performed by singing "Jesus Loves Me."

One of her lifelong fans, Maggie Temple, said that the performance was short and simple and it was just a wonderful night to make it her last. Her other friends said that the following morning, a few more hours before her surprising death, said that the diva was even discussing a Bible passage while explaining how she finds Jesus cool and that she wants to meet Him.

Another close source said that Whitney had been praising Jesus during her last days because she felt then that her time was soon to come. And eventually, she was right.

Whitney Houston may have been engrossed with all the fame that the world can offer but she was raised in a Christian family. She even started singing as part of a gospel choir in New Hope Baptist Church and she was very vocal about her spirituality in her former interviews.

In fact, with her 2009 interview with Oprah, she shared that it was her faith who helped her a great deal in overcoming her addiction to drugs.

Houston's cause of death remains unknown as everyone awaits for the result of the toxicology report. The funeral is set to happen this Saturday in her New Jersey hometown.
