Back in the days, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were deemed to be the "Brangelina" of their time. Now that their love story is put on film, meet the surprising pick to play parallel to Lindsay Lohan for the Elizabeth Taylor biopic.

It has already been about a month since Lindsay Lohan was confirmed to play Elizabeth Taylor in film. Today, the part for Richard Burton was given to a surprise pick in the form of Grant Bowler.

Bowler is an actor who has worked in Australian, American and New Zealand television. He is famously known for playing Constable Wayne Patterson in "Blue Heelers" and had appearances in "Ugly Betty." Back in 2010, he was revealed as host for "The Amazing Race Australia."

E! News confirmed that Bowler already signed to play Burton, the love of Elizabeth Taylor who married and divorced the actress twice. It may come off as a surprise that the lead actor for the "Liz and Dick" movie is 18 years older than Lohan.

But age shouldn't be the case, since producer Larry Thompson originally wanted to get someone older because Richard Burton was in fact older than Elizabeth Taylor.

"Richard Burton was quite older than Elizabeth Taylor. This is from a visual point of view just about equal to Liz and Dick. Visually speaking it is a perfect match," the producer told E! News.

"This morning we had Lindsay and Grant come into a room at Lifetime and the chemistry exploded. It was just Fourth of July firecrackers going off in the room. We knew from the chemistry that Liz and Dick live again," Thompson said.

Lindsay and Grant have met for the first time last week. And since her movie "Labor Pains" back in 2009, Lindsay will once again start shooting on June 4.
