Why Apple's iWatchCan Be The Next Big Thing
From sundials to mechanical watches to digital watches, the history of watches has evolved through centuries. Now is the advent of smartwatches. While the smartwatch technology has been around for decades, no one has really revolutionalized this category yet.
Seiko, pulsar, fossil and the likes have made their own designs and variations of smartwatches but no one has really taken the smartwatch technology to the next level.
This is where Apple comes in with the iWatch. Apple, the tech Giant, is known for its cutting-edge and state of the art designs and innovations in technology.
How can Apple make the iWatch revolutionary? First and foremost, it will obviously be a wearable device that tells time and more. Then, they will take it to the next level by adding more features. Here are just some speculations on what the iWatch can do.
1. Run the all apps that we generally use (messaging, games, social media, etc.)
2. Make the iWatch some sort of payment platform. No wearable device is doing this at the moment.
3. It can serve as a remote control for devices in your home and office like lighting, electronic curtains, thermostats, televisions, air-conditioners, etc according to Business Insider. They can get into "the internet of things."
4. It can function as a health monitoring device that can do calorie-counting, step-counting, blood sugar monitoring and other health and medical functions.
5. It can also be used to control other smart devices like the iPhone and the iPad and integrated into the Apple ecosystem according to Electronista.
5. It can serve as a media player where one can do live streaming, etc.
The list can go on and on. Historically, Apple has not really failed to impress the public. Before they come out with a new product, they do their due diligence. They do not merely ensure that the new device is technologically groundbreaking; they also make sure that the design is fresh and modern. Speculators can keep on speculating but Apple will surely keep it top secret until they actually debut the product.
