After a three-year winning streak, Facebook, has involuntarily given up its number one spot as the best tech company to work at. According the 6th annual employees' Choice Awards recently held by career website, Glassdoor, the new reigning top dog in tech right now is Twitter.
Overall, twitter is ranked second, with a company rating of 4.6 according to Forbes. Among the 50 top places chosen by employees, 22 are tech companies. To be included in Glassdoor's top 50 list, a company has to top a US employee survey across the United States. After the surveys are completed and submitted, Glassdoor makes an official tally.
What makes twitter a good place to work in? According to twitter employees, they like the "culture of openness and trust from the inside out." They believe that the open-door policy of their CEO, Dick Costolo, encourages an atmosphere of constant and consistent communication, vital to the general direction of the company. It's is the open dialogue, friendly aura and cooperation that plays a big impact on the employees according to CNET.
Having said all of the above, the employees also enjoy the benefits of having complete medical and dental benefits.They also have good vacation benefits, paid maternity and paternity leaves, 401(k) savings plans, gym memberships, catered breakfasts and lunches and laundry services. On top of that, they are kept healthy by having yoga and pilates sessions available within the office on a weekly basis.
