A new concept HTC One 2, dubbed as HTC M8, packs great specs and features that are at par with the rumoured specs of Samsung Galaxy S5.

HTC One 2 is getting more and more attention these days amidst the Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours. Folks at Techradar created a new render of the HTC One 2 boasting top of the line specifications.

The new HTC One 2 concept image boasts the same metallic body of its predecessor but now the front sports an edge-to-edge screen display. The creators said that the screen is a 5-inch 2K display.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by 2.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 CPU inside, 3 GB of RAM and a 4000 mAh battery. The handset 16, 32 and 64 GB storage versions with expandable storage via microSD card slot.

The smartphone will run with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS and with the usual HTC Sense 6.0. Users can take photos with 10 Ultrapixel rear camera. The camera has a new UI and the general UI is now more fluid and better organized.

Surprisingly, the successor of HTC One packs a fingerprint sensor integrated into the HTC logo at the bottom of the screen. This will unlock the device with a single touch.

HTC One 2 release date is still unconfirmed but reliable tipster @evleaks tweeted that the handset would be with all four U.S. networks by the "end of Q1 '14." This has been backed up after court documents from the patent trial between HTC and Nokia detailed "the launch date is in the first quarter of 2014, and possibly as early as Feb 2014". Thus, HTC One 2 may hit the shelves on March 2014.

If rumours proved to be true, HTC One 2 will battle head on with the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S5 as well as iPhone 6. The two smartphones are also expected to arrive on the first quarter of next year. But with the aforementioned specs, HTC One 2 should be a smartphone to watch out for.
