Wii U to be Released on Mid-November?
Good news to Nintendo fans, a leaked information from GameStop memo showed that Wii U is set for release on second week of November. However, there is no official announcement yet from Nintendo.
Nintendo's Wii U console shocked many avid gamers at the E3 event earlier this year. The console showed off a plethora of upcoming games that can be played on the console, the new GamePad, as well as showing off the upcoming Miiverse in-game social network.
Nintendo was relatively quiet about the details of the game console. The release date of the device and its price were not announced at the said event. Nintendo has yet to make an official announcement, but it looks like their release date might have been leaked.
According to a leaked internal GameStop memo, there are fourteen total games planned for release for the Wii U, the earliest of which have a release date of November 14th.
This is supported by the fact that many of Nintendo's previous products have been launched in mid-November. Thus, this seemed that this rumor launch window would be ideal for the company's newest console.
Big name game publishers such as Ubisoft, EA, and Warner Bros. Interactive have already announced their upcoming Wii U titles such as Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition, Assassin's Creed 3 and Mass Effect 3. Many of these titles have already been released on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but some of these titles will have Wii U-exclusive content.
The price of the console is a crucial aspect of the game device. Nintendo suffered decline in sales of Wii last year. According to reports, the Nintendo Wii suffered a 55 percent decline in sales, which means the Wii is probably on its way out.
Moreover, Australian homes are dominated by Sony's PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox.
