Sony recently unveiled the Xperia T2 Ultra. The phone is expected to be a mid range device to reach consumers who are not able to afford the Xperia Z Ultra but will the price factor be a bid differentiator? Here is a specs comparison between the two devices.

Analysts expect the price difference between the two devices to be marginal. Will users prefer to upgrade or will the specs on the new device be enough to pull in enough customers?

Display and Design

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra comes with a 6 inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, rendering 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The Xperia Z Ultra comes with a 6.4 inch capacitive touch screen, rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution.

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra comes with 165.2 x 83.8 x 7.7 mm dimensions and weighs 171.7 grams. The Xperia Z Ultra comes with 179.4 x 92.2 x 6.5 mm dimensions and weighs 212 grams.

Hardware and Operating System

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is equipped with a 1.4 GHz quad core cortex A7 processor and Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400 chipset. It comes with 8 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by up to 32 GB using a Micro SD card.

The Xperia Z Ultra is equipped with a 2.2 GHz quad core krait 400 processor and Qualcomm MSM8274 or MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset. It comes with 16 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by up to 64 GB using a Micro SD card.

Both the devices run on the Android platform and come loaded with the Jelly Bean operating system. The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra has 1 GB of RAM whereas the Xperia Z Ultra has 2 GB of RAM.

Camera

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra sports a 13 MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash. The secondary camera on the device is 1.1 MP. The Xperia Z Ultra sports an 8 MP primary camera with autofocus and the secondary camera on the device is 2 MP.

Battery

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery, which allows for a talk time of about 24 hours on 3G or music play of about 93 hours. The Xperia Z Ultra comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 3050 mAh battery, which allows for a talk time of about 16 hours on 3G or music play of about 120 hours.
