'Wolverine 3' Update: Hugh Jackman Confirms Quitting
Hugh Jackman confirms that "Wolverine 3" would be the last movie fans would able to see him as the adamantium-infused mutant. After 17 years, Jackman is saying goodbye to being a part of X-Men.
Express UK reports that Jackman finally confirmed that he will be retiring from his role as Wolverine. Last March, the Aussie actor cryptically said through his Instagram that he would be playing Wolverine the last time, leading many to speculate. Now however, the actor himself spoke on the “Dr. Oz Show” and confirmed that such is the case. He will retire from his well-knownr role in the X-Men series in 2017. "It is my last time," he confirmed. "It felt like it was the right time to do it.
According to Jackman, him leaving has nothing to do with his experience playing the character, which he said he is beyond grateful for. He said he never envisioned playing the role for 17 years. He added that he is so grateful to the fans for giving him such an opportunity, to carry on the role for such a length of time. He also said that he felt on his gut that “Wolverine 3” would be the best movie to end his journey. He said it is the “perfect way to go out.”
Acting is not only his day job though. Jackman dabbles on a lot of things. He likes to play around weights too. The actor recently posted an Instagram video of himself deadlifting 410 pounds on Monday, which gained him an try into the 1,000 pound club. The members of exclusive club were buffs who can lift more than 1,000 pounds of weight between their squat, bench press and deadlift.
He is also a businessman. He is the co-founder and executive director of Pure Growth Group, a New-York based company. The company just announced the Pure Sun Defense, a sunscreen made for kids, which would be launching this summer. What makes the sunscreen special is that it contains no harmful chemicals and is co-branded with characters well-known and loved by kids, such as”Avengers,” “Spider-Man,” “Despicable Me” and “Frozen.”
