'Wolverine 3' And 'X-Men: Apocalypse': Sir Patrick Stewart Talks About His And Ian McKellen's Role
Sir Patrick Stewart recently revealed in an interview that that the third “Wolverine” film might happen. He also added that the storyline of the film will revolve around Hugh Jackman and his character Professor Charles Xavier.
“What I'm very excited about is that we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together. That would be a very different sort of 'X-Men' from the four movies that I've already done,” he revealed in his interview to Oregonlive. Sir Patrick also revealed in his interview that he will not be reprising his role of the Professor in the “X-Men: Apocalypse” however, he confirmed that Magneto, Ian McKellen will be in the film.
He also added that the shooting of "X-Men: Apocalypse" will soon start in Montreal. The revelation of McKellen coming back to "X-Men" film comes after Sir Patrick said in his previous interview that he and McKellen will not reprise their roles in the future X-Men films, according to Yahoo Movies. He had also said previously that "X-Men: Apocalypse" would take a look at the "earlier lives of" Magneto and Professor Charles Xavier.
Sir Patrick's character Professor Charles Xavier is the leader and founder of the X-Men. He is a paraplegic though he has one of the most powerful mutant minds. He has the ability to control and read human with his telepathic abilities. Xavier is against the violent ways of Magneto, who is a super villain. Sir Patrick has played Professor Charles Xavier in “The Wolverine” and “X-Men” Film series. Meanwhile, the confirmation in regard to “Wolverine 3” is yet to come. It is rumored that James Mangold will direct the film.
Jackman who plays the titular role in “Wolverine” series has revealed in his previous interview that if the “Wolverine 3” happens it will be last time he will be playing the character of mutant in the series. He did say that he is “very ambitious” about playing Wolverine. The actor did not reveal anything about the film’s plot details though he was quite fascinated by the idea of Old Man Logan from the comics, reported Screen Rant.
Jackman’s character, Wolverine is known as Logan and has the senses of an animal. He has heightened physical and healing abilities. Jackman has portrayed the character of Wolverine in all seven “X-Men” films and he is set to reprise his role in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” It is not known what will be the length of Jackman’s role in the film. The new “X-Men” film is reportedly going to focus on first-class act.
