World Cup 2014: Luis Suarez Apologises to Giorgio Chiellini for Bite; China Sells Suarez Bottle Openers

Controversial Uruguayan soccer player Luis Suarez has finally admitted biting the shoulder of Italian football player Giorgio Chiellini which was the result of a collision. He tweeted an apology to his bite victim, stating that he "deeply regrets what occurred."

For his part, Chiellini - like a good sportsman - accepted the apology and said on Monday that he has forgotten the incident which happened at the match between Uruguay and Italy. He likewise expressed hope that FIFA would reduce the 4-month, 9-game ban on Suarez.

With his infamous bite, Suarez surely made a mark in the sport of soccer as the incident would be one of the highlights of the ongoing World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

To help soccer fans as well as drinkers remember the incident years long after the Uruguayan footballer loses all his teeth when he reaches his senior years, people who bought a Suarez bottle opener would recall.

Chinese vendors are cashing in on the bite by selling on Taobao, the e-commerce site of China's Alibaba, the bottle openers which, according to an artist sketch, is in the form of a plastic figurine of Suarez attached to a keychain. The mouth of the figurine is the one to be used for opening bottles.

The item sells for as low as 15 yuan or $2.50. The sales pitch, according to one advertisement, is "One mouth, one opener ... one bite and it's open."

One vendor said he has received so far 108 orders and he is working with manufacturers to make the bottle opener in time for the final match of the World Cup.
