'WWE 2K16' gets 'New Moves Pack' this week, has moves for Kalisto, Neville and more
When the first major patch was released for “WWE 2K16,” developer 2K Games stated that it would support the upcoming “New Moves” pack. Now the developer has revealed that the aforementioned piece of downloadable content (DLC) will arrive on Nov. 24.
According to the official WWE 2K website, the “New Moves” pack will have over 30 new moves for players to use. The pack will cost US$3.99 (approx. AU$ 5.50) and can also be purchased with the US$24.99 (approx. AU$35) season pass, which gives players most of the game’s DLC with a slight discount.
2K previously released a DLC teaser video, which previewed a couple of the moves. Some of these included Sin Cara’s springboard Swanton Bomb and Stardust’s Crossface Chickenwing. The official WWE 2K Twitter account has also showcased a number of new moves, including Kalisto’s 630 Senton and Neville’s deadlift German Suplex.
What’s surprising about the “New Moves” pack from previous years is the amount of moves that were not performed by WWE superstars. Last year’s “New Moves” pack included the Calfkiller submission from AJ Styles and the Meltzer Driver from indie tag team the Young Bucks to name a few.
Some fans find it surprising that the “New Moves” pack is the game’s first DLC pack this year, as it was released much later in previous games. Even with the game already having plenty of new moves, this DLC should still please any hardcore wrestling fan.
The “New Moves” pack isn’t the only piece of DLC that fans will get if they purchase the season pass. As previously mentioned, the season pass grants customers access to all of the game’s DLC, which includes new characters and a “Hall of Fame Showcase.”
Characters that will be released as DLC include “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Dusty Rhodes, Big Boss Man, Trish Stratus, Lita, Alundra Blayze, Samoa Joe and much more. If previous years have told fans anything, it’s that new characters usually come with new moves as well, which should please even more wrestling fans.
“WWE 2K16” is available now for PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360, with a PC version rumoured for release later this year. The “New Moves” pack will be available on all platforms.
