'WWE 2K18': Brand Wars in focus once more for Universe mode
The official trailer for "WWE 2K18" has finally rolled out, and fans are looking forward to the 2018 edition of the classic wrestling game. There is plenty of ground to cover, mostly the features that will keep players busy.
In a previous post, it was mentioned that Kurt Angle will be doing some detective work to track down the one responsible for vandalizing the WWE museum on Storyline Mode. As most people know by now, Seth Rollins (who is incidentally the cover athlete for "WWE 2K18") will be the one behind it all.
Apparently, players will be able to become a WWE general manager once again. With gamers given the choice to choose brands on Universe mode, the Kurt Angle pitch could be the most basic one if a player chooses to build WWE Raw. If this should be the case, it will be interesting how the WWE SmackDown will be scripted.
With the main plot likely set, the rest will be up to the aspiring WWE general manager. Duties would include bringing in talent and buying pay-per-views as seen in real-life shows. The obvious goal is to build the brand and make sure it maintains ratings by keeping fans happy.
Speaking of talent, it will be interesting to know the available for players to recruit once "WWE 2K18" is ready. Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles and Cesaro have so far been the WWE stars mentioned, though more are expected to follow.
Looking at both brands, there are plenty of WWE superstars to mention. There are Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Jinder Mahal and The Undertaker, someone who many believe will be the star of the Showcase mode. The WWE NXT brand is also expected to be factored in as 2K Sports is left with a daunting task of improving after the success of "WWE 2K17."
"WWE 2K18" is set to come out in October for the PS4 and Xbox One. Folks who pre-order the game will reportedly get Kurt Angle as a bonus. More updates are expected to arrive in the coming months, particularly once SummerSlam 2017 is aired.
